A cover story I wrote for Billboard’s 2023 Pride issue, featuring country-pop singer Maren Morris in conversation with drag performers Sasha Colby, Symone, Eureka O’Hara, and Landon Cider about the shifting political reality of LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S. The conversation touched on anti-LGBTQ+ laws and court rulings, the responsibility of artists to speak up for the community, drag’s impact on pop culture, and more.
This story won the 2024 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Print Article.
A cover story I wrote for Billboard’s August 2022 issue starring pop singer Sam Smith. The story saw Smith inviting Billboard to their estate in the English countryside, and covers Smith’s decision to come out publicly as non-binary. The story also features a retrospective look at their decade of success in the music industry, how their radio-first approach in the U.S. paid dividends, and previewed their turn towards dance music for 2023’s Gloria
